Atlanta’s Connection to the UGR and the Decoding the Codes of the UGRR through pre-Civil War Quilts

Explore the concealed messages in Pre-Civil War quilts and the codes embedded in them used on the Underground Railroad. Both quilts from that era and modern examples will be displayed to illustrate these messages. This event is free, but per-registration is required.
Mud Quilts

Attendees will learn the History and Art of Mud Quilts, specifically those of the Southern Quilts, along with an opportunity to try their hand at creating their own mud quilt block(s) using different types of muds, clays and natural dyes.
